2022 Albany Veterans Day Parade

The 2022 Albany Oregon Veterans Day Parade is held on November 11, and starts at 11:00a. The parade will return to it's pre-pandemic route: Starting on Pacific Boulevard, under the overpass on to Lyons Street into Downtown Albany, left onto Second Avenue then to Ferry Street, and finally left again onto 3rd Avenue ending next to the Linn County Courthouse. Other Veterans Day celebrations are being held prior to the parade itself. On November 10, from 7-9p, the Veteran of the Year Banquet will be held at the Linn County Expo. The event is being hosted by the VFW Post 584 with an entry fee of $35, and is open to the public. On the morning of November 11, from 8:30-9:30a at Timber-Linn Memorial Park, a Memorial Service is being held. The service will include opening remarks from Linn County Commissioner Will Tucker, Albany Mayor Alex Johnson II, and Michael E. Stencel, Adjutant General, OR Military Department. Keynote Speaker Randy Martinak of Linn County Veterans Memorial Association will lead the ceremony. Before the parade starts, a flyover will be provided by the 142nd Oregon Air National Guard Wing, the "Redhawks". November 11, 2022

In 2020 and 2021, the City of Albany held a "reverse parade" on Veterans Day due to public health concerns caused by COVID-19. These "reverse parades" were held at various locations around Albany, where parade floats would be stationed and the public could drive by and show their support. For 2022, the parade will return to its traditional format. There is a large expected turnout to the event by both the number of parade entries and size of crowds. Morning weather is projected to be overcast with a chance of rain in the afternoon, so come prepared with an umbrella. In the evening, a Veterans Day Concert will be held by the Willamette Valley Concert Band at 7:00p at Lebanon High School, 1700 S. Fifth Street. The 90-minute program is free and open to the public.
