An emotional meeting at the 2022 Albany, OR Veterans Day Parade. As per the Albany Visitors Association, the parade held by Albany and Linn County is the largest Veterans Day celebration west of the Mississippi River. The event had a turn out of thousands of people with hundreds of entries. November 11, 2022
Opened in 2017, the Albany Historic Carousel & Museum has become a prominent staple of the waterfront district. Their largest attraction, a 1909 Dentzel Carousel, is a popular activity for families. Patrol Officer Ken Fandrem of the Albany Police Department. Officer Fandrem is hanging out in the rain helping direct traffic during the Veterans Day Parade. Fandrem was happily chatting with passersby despite the miserable weather. He said that after the parade he would be heading with to Gill Coliseum Corvallis, OR to assist with an event, where he hoped his uniform would have a chance to dry out while indoors.
